You can join in with a leader to do a group project. The leader will provide the timber you require (at cost) & take you through the steps on completing the carving or you can do your own project.

Paint your Carving

Paint your carving (Bring your own carving) led by Dianne Paine. Dianne will have a table setup to show you some painting tips using watered down acrylic paints. If you have a unpainted project bring it along to get help on painting. You can see the results of Dianne’s painting. Bookings for time slots can be booked ahead of time or see Dianne on the weekend.

Bring along your own unfinished carving to learn on or get some help.
Acrylic paints will be supplied. If you have a particular colour you want then you are welcome to bring it.
If possible bring some cheap stiff bristle art brushes. ( soft brushes are not good with wood) Cheap brushes are available at art supply shops. See photo above for the type of brush to buy. Smaller sizes brushes are also available at art shops should your project require finer detail. Any questions or book a time ahead ring Dianne 0413 671 267

Relief carving of dog or cat

Relief carving of dog or cat. I will supply Jelutong about A4 size, you can see by the above examples of carvings I have done in the last few years. Ellee the Eirdale dog is only 15mm deep & is a great challenge to do such a shallow relief. My favorite pose for a dog is like the French Bulldog what I call a 3/4 view but if you want can be direct on. You will need to bring a A4 size photo which can then be carbon copied on to timber blank. Any questions ring John Paine 0473 579 508

Work on your own Project

If you want, just bring your current project. There is plenty of space. Just carving with others is what it is all about.
